CINCINNATI (January 22, 2025)—The Urology Group has opened The IR Center of Greater Cincinnati, specializing in minimally invasive, interventional radiology (IR) treatments. In the center, The Urology Group will perform prostate artery embolization for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) but plans to expand to offer treatments for other urologic conditions.
The IR Center of Greater Cincinnati is a relationship between The Urology Group, Gastro Health, and Radiology Associates of Northern Kentucky. Interventional radiologists from Radiology Associates of Northern Kentucky will perform the procedures.
Prostate artery embolization is a minimally invasive procedure that uses tiny particles to block the blood vessels feeding the prostate, thereby reducing blood flow to the prostate and causing it to shrink over time.
