Overview
If you suffer from Peyronie’s Disease, you’re not alone. Now there’s an injectable medication that breaks down plaque that causes the penis to curve.
XIAFLEX® is the only FDA-approved medication for Peyronie’s disease. This nonsurgical treatment option is specifically for:
- Adult men
- Whose curvature is caused by scar tissue/plaque that can be felt when examining the penis
- With a curvature greater than 30 degrees

XIAFLEX is for adult men with a curvature of 30 degrees or greater.
How It Works
The curvature of the penis associated with Peyronie’s disease is caused by a buildup of scar tissue which feels like a bump under the skin of your penis.
- During your first in-office visit, your urologist will inject XIAFLEX into the scar tissue.
- A second injection will take place during your second visit, about 1-3 days later.
- Several days later a member of the urology care team will perform in-office exercises to stretch and straighten your penis.
- For the next six weeks you will spend a few minutes each day doing these same stretching and straightening exercises at home.
Once this first treatment cycle is complete, your urologist will determine if more treatment cycles are needed. Depending on the severity of your curvature, up to four cycles may be necessary. Treatment cycles are scheduled six weeks apart.
